Salvador Furniture & Cabinetmaking is a boutique furniture making business based in West Gosford, on the Central Coast of NSW. Established in January 2022, it is the passion project of owners Ryan & Sarah Gilligan.
Salvador Furniture has a mission to produce fine quality Australian made furniture, handcrafted predominantly from solid timber. In certain designs we will also attempt to utilise salvaged timbers that have been rescued from landfill and given a second life as a bespoke piece within the home.
Ryan is a professional cabinetmaker who completed his apprenticeship in Currumbin, QLD. It was here that he was able to hone his skills, learn the craft of cabinetmaking, and further develop his knowledge of solid wood in a fast paced, custom furniture-making environment.
Drawing inspiration from iconic furniture makers such as George Nakishima, Hans J. Wegner and James Krenov, Ryan has commenced his journey as a maker with innovative ideas and a sound knowledge of Australian timber species and modern construction methods.
Sarah is the loving wife to Ryan and mother of their daughter Maple and son Finlay. She takes the customer through their journey, connecting them with their vision for bespoke, unique furnishings and explores the ways the natural world can be celebrated and immersed within the home.
Salvador Furniture aims to demonstrate the highest level of craftsmanship fused with modern design that showcases the immense beauty of Australian native timbers. Eucalypts can provide longevity in furniture that is unsurpassed.
At Salvador Furniture, we believe in providing sustainable timber products where all materials have been sourced from renewable FSC certified forests and come with a full chain of custody. In essence, all timbers used in our products can be traced from point of origin and are managed effectively to balance local economies alongside a future with healthy Australian forests that can be enjoyed by future generations.
We also endeavor to utilise salvaged timbers where possible, that have been rescued from landfill and demolition sites in an effort to reduce landfill and carbon emissions.
